McDonald’s Japan - the Miami Burger

miami-burger.jpg

Looking for a taste of home during your travels in Japan? Try McDonalds Japan’s new Miami Burger - but it might be a little bit different than what you would expect.

The Miami Burger features cheese, tortilla chips, shredded lettuce, and taco meat with a spicy tomato chili sauce - you heard it right, ground beef topped with ground beef!

The burger will be available from mid-February to mid-March across Japan and is part of McDonalds Japan’s “Big America” campaign, which will also feature burgers named after Idaho, Manhattan, and Texas.

The Texas Burger 2 features tantalizing chili beans, bacon and onions over a central Big Mac style bun. Next comes a quarter-pound beef burger resting on a slice of American Cheese and old-fashioned grainy mustard relish.

Then we have the Idaho Burger, with a special ‘tater topping. Lift off the top half of an onion bun and you’ll find grainy mustard sauce with bacon and onions topping a circular fried hash-brown potato patty. The crispy fried potato rests upon a quarter-pound beef burger, which in turn tops a slice of cheese and peppery sauce.

Last and not least, the Manhattan Burger – meant to capture the taste of old-fashioned Big Apple deli sandwiches. Inside the artisan bun you’ll find a slice of mozzarella cheese, fresh lettuce, onions, and a slice of pastrami. Both top and bottom buns are slathered with sour cream sauce for a “modern, airy, refined taste”.

Hawaiian Airlines adds direct flights to Osaka.

Hawaiian Airlines announced that it will begin its second Honolulu-Japan flight when it begins daily nonstop service to Osaka in July.

The Osaka flight is the third new Asian route for Hawaiian in less than a year. Hawaiian began daily service to Tokyo’s Haneda International Airport in November and four-times-a-week service to Seoul in January.

Hawaiian’s Osaka service, which will begin July 12 from Honolulu and July 13 from Japan, will use a Boeing 767. Hawaiian Airlines plans to use one of its new Airbus A330-200s for Haneda service in April after the airline’s fourth Airbus is delivered during that month.
