Depart for half-day sightseeing of Hong Kong. Renowned as one of the world’s most sophisticated cities, Hong Kong is also a place where myths and legends inhabit mountain peaks, wooded valleys and farmlands.

 

Victoria Peak & Harbour: Enjoy a panoramic view of Hong Kong island, Kowloon, and the other surrounding islands. Award winning architecture can be seen at the foot of the peak.

Wednesday, December 2nd

Depart the hotel for a full day excursion to Macau.              

 

Macau, a former Portuguese colony which used to be the oldest European settlement in the Orient, is a place where the East meets West. In this tour you will be shown the charm of the Chinese and Portuguese heritages embraced in arrays of modernized architecture.

 

Depart by jetfoil or catamaran for a 60-minute ride to Macau.

 

Drive along the Guia Circuit where the Macau Grand Prix is held annually.

 

A-Ma Temple: Macau’s most famous temple, pays tribute to the goddess of the sea, A Ma (also known as Tian Hou, Tin Haur or Mazu in other parts of China). According to legend, A Ma led a group of storm-tossed, weary sailors to what was to become Macau. The grateful survivors name the place A Ma, which later became A Ma Gao (Bay of A Ma), and later yet when the Portuguese arrived they changed it to Macau.

 

Penha Church: A graceful chapel built on top of Penha Hill whose grounds offers a lovely view of nearby bridges, Taipa Island and even China on a clear day..

 

Porta do Cerco: The official land crossing point into China. We will stop here for a glimpse of the Chinese Border Guards

 

Lunch at a local restaurant.

 

Ruins of St. Paul: One of Macau’s famous landmarks and a World Heritage site, the name refers to a grand imposing facade which is the ruins of an early 16th century church designed by Italians and carved by Japanese Christian exiles.             

 

Walk down the picturesque cobblestone streets, past furniture shops and clothing factory outlets (for shopping if time permits), to the main city center.

Senado Square: Or literally “Senate” Square, is an area in the centre of Macau that is paved in the traditional Portuguese pavement.

 

Try your luck at the gambling tables of the world famous casino in Macau before leaving the city in the late afternoon. Passports are required. Visitors wearing shorts are not allowed to enter the Casinos.

Depart for a full day of sightseeing, with city tour including the visits to the most interesting temples (wat means temple):

 

·         Wat Phra Sing: Housing the North's most revered Buddha statue, Phra Phuttha     Sihing.

 

·         Wat Chedi Luang: Located right in the middle of the city, it is considered to be the largest chedi in Chiang Mai

 

·         Wat Chiang Man:: The oldest temple in Chiang Mai town, built in 1296 by King     Mengrai, the founder of Chiang Mai.

Handicraft Village: Located in Northern Thailand and acknowledged as one of the country's main centers for handicrafts, here visitors with a passion for craftsmanship can spend countless hours observing traditional techniques. Handicraft visiting includes woodcarving, silverware and paper umbrella making. You can also purchase works of art if you like.

Depart for sightseeing.

 

Chiang Dao Elephant Camp: An elephant camp north of Chiang Mai. The show begins with a majestic procession of elephants marching up the Mae (River) Ping. Then it is bath time - with much splashing and trumpeting. Later, the elephants demonstrate how they move large teak logs as if they were matchsticks, a skill employed for more than a century in the teak forests of the North.

 

Afterwards visit a Meo hill tribe and the caves of Chiang Dao.

The tour will end at Paragon Mall: Bangkok’s newest and largest shopping mall where your guide will show you to the best food-court in Bangkok (lunch at your own expense). Then, experience the best shopping in Bangkok.

Damnoen Saduk Floating Market: Located in Ratchaburi (about 70 miles away), it is the most colorful floating market of the Kingdom.

 

Giant Pagoda: Located at Nakhon Pathom, it is a circular pagoda that features an upside down bell shape Chedi (lankan style) which houses Lord Buddha relics.

 

Lunch at The Rose Garden: A Thai Village where you can enjoy the fabulous experience of a show of Thai culture, sports and folk dances.
